Gojko Vuckovic

The longtime member and supporter of NASSS, Dr. Gojko Vuckovic(61) passed away on October 11, 2013 in Los Angeles, after a brief battle with gastric cancer. Dr. Vuckovic was buried at the Serbian Cemetery in Los Angeles, officiated by Father PetarJovanovic.

Dr. Vuckovic received his B.A. from the University of Belgrade. After arriving to the United States, he received a M.S.M.from the Arthur D. Little School of Management, Cambridge, Massachusetts(1990) and a M.P.A. from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts (1991). Healso received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California (USC), School of Public Administration, Los Angeles, California(1996) with a concentration in the areas of comparative politics and administration.

Robert J. Pavich

Since 1975, 100% of Bob’s practice has been dedicated to litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. His tort law practice, including medical malpractice, product liability and wrongful death cases, has grown over the past 10 years to include tort victims of human rights violations throughout the world- encompassing mass tort and class action litigation.

Bob’s international experience includes work as lead trial counsel at the Hague War Crimes Tribunal from 2001 through 2005. From 2007 through 2010, he was lead defense counsel in five federal deportation prosecutions in Florida and Illinois, all of which resulted in acquittals. Marko Dapcevich

Marko Dapcevich (born 1969) is a former mayor of Sitka, Alaska. He is an "Honored Member" of a United Nations group, signed the US Mayors' Climate Protection Agreement, which is part of the Kyoto Protocol, and spoke out against Touchstone Pictures' non-use of Sitka for The Proposal. Dapcevich has testified before the Alaskan state Senate Finance Committee and has run for the Alaska State Legislature, District 2.

Andrej Grubačić

Andrej Grubačić is a visionary intellectual, professor, activist and fellow traveler of Zapatista-inspired direct action movements. Currently, Grubačić serves as professor and Chair of the Anthropology and Social Change Department at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. He started his academic career as a historian of 16th century world at the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia. After the breakup of Yugoslavia, for reasons that were both political and intellectual, he left the country, and reinvented himself as a radical historian and sociologist.

Miroslav Marcovich / Мирослав Марковић

Miroslav Marcovich, Professor Emeritus in the Department of the Classics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was born in Belgrade on 18 March 1919. He died on 14 June 2001 at the age of 82. He is survived by his gracious wife Vera, whom he married on 30 May 1948 and who was to be the unfailing companion of the remainder of his life, and his son, Dr. Dragoslav (Michael) Marcovich, a chemist.
