Iloan Mask, pronalazač i milioner i vlasnik “Tesla Motors”, donirao je milion dolara za Naučni centar Tesla u okrugu Safolk u Njujorku na Long Ajlendu, na mestu Vardenklifa, jedine preostale laboratorije slavnog naučnika. Za taj potez Maska veliku zaslugu ima jedan autor veb stripa, prenosi CNN.

Metju Inman, čiji strip i sajt The Oatmeal privlači milione čitalaca svakog meseca, potvrdio je u četvrtak da je razgovarao sa Maskom i da mu je on potvrdio donaciju.

Inman je rekao da mu je Mask rekao dve stvari tokom telefonskog razgovora:
- napraviće punkt za punjenje Tesla automobila na parkingu ispred muzeja.
- doniraće milion dolara da se muzej napravi i počne sa radom.

Osnivač komapnije Tesla Motors već je ranije donirao 2,500 dolara za budući muzej.

Naučni centar Tesla potvrdio je ovu vest na svom tviteru.

U jednom od svojih stripova, Inman je poredio Teslu i “stao na njegovu stranu” sa Teslinim (u svetu poznatijim savremenikom) rivalom Tomasom Edisonom. 2012. godine organizovao je akciju da kupi Vardenklif i da ga pretvori u muzej posvećen Nikoli Tesli.

Ubrzo je pokrenuo akciju na sajtu Indiegogo, koju je nazvao “Hajde da napravimo “prokleti” Teslin muzej” (Let's Build a G**damn Tesla Museum), koja je sakupila neverovatnih 1,3 miliona dolara. Od tada do danas prikupljena suma dostigla je skoro 8 miliona dolara potrebnih da se prostor restaurira i izgradi Muzej.

Ove godine je Inman u svom stripu recenzirao novi Tesla Model S i praktično kroz njega pozvao Maska da pomogne. Par sati od objavljivanja tog stripa Mask je postovao na Tviteru: "Biće mi drago da pomognem.”

Vladan Vuletić

Professor Vladan Vuletić (Lester Wolfe Professor of Physics Division Head, Atomic, Biological, Condensed Matter and Plasma Physics) was born in Peć, Yugoslavia, and educated in Germany. In 1992, he earned the Physics Diploma with highest honors from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and in 1997, a Ph.D. in Physics (summa cum laude) from the same institution.

While a postdoctoral researcher with the Max-Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching, Germany, Professor Vuletić accepted a Lynen Fellowship at Stanford University in 1997. In 2000, he was appointed an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Stanford and in June 2003 accepted an Assistant Professorship in Physics at MIT. He was promoted to Associate Professor in July 2004. He was promoted to Full Professor in July 2011.

Welcome to the Sebastian Press Publishing House of the Western Diocese!

Founded in 2006 and named in honor of a first American born Orthodox priest, Fr. Sebastian Dabovic, a pioneer of the Orthodox Church in the West, Sebastian Press is one of the largest and most active publishers of Christian Orthodox publications on the West Coast.

Our hard working staff seeks to fruitfully enrich and deepen the faith of Christians from all over the world with a variety of titles, embracing a diversity of Orthodox Traditions, while also presenting the works of Serbian theologians.

Sebastian Press is building its reputation for promoting high quality theological, historical, ecclesiastical, spiritual, hagiographical, iconographical, philosophical and patristic writings in its repertoire. Also, due to growing demand, we are giving special attention to the publishing of new titles for children, teens, and families, including video and audio programs.

The primary mission of Sebastian Press is to motivate and inspire its readers to seek a deeper union with the God-Man, through the written word of Orthodox Christian material, both on the scholarly and popular level, and to give glory to the life-giving Trinity.
