March 20, 1930 – September 29, 2021

He was a faithful, family man, who was proud of his Serbian roots, but also believed in and achieved the American Dream. Nickola was born on March 20, 1930 in Drazevac, Serbia, Yugoslavia. As a preteen he moved to Belgrade where he completed his education and graduated from the Geodetic College and then worked for the Yugoslavian, Republic Geodetic authority, in Serbia, for four years. In 1956 he accepted a job in Austria and worked for the Austrian Department of Geodetic Authority, for 6 months while he continued his quest to find his father who was missing in action since WWII. From Vienna, Nickola immigrated to the United States with the help and support of the Serbian National Defense Council.

Ronald Radakovich

Ronald Ron Radakovich retired as Vice-President of Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation. A Minnesota native he holds  a B.S. and Master’s degrees from the University of Minnesota. His parents emigrated from Lika and Bosna. Ron serves on several Boards of Directors, including the Byzantine American Alliance of Northern California and the Patriarch Athenagoras Orthodox Institute at the University of California, Berkeley. Former Vice-President of the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Executive Committee member of the International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) of Northern California, he is currently the Counselor Emeritus of the Serbian Orthodox Church-Western American Diocese. He is a Serbian Unity Congress Board member.

Nick was born in Uzice, Serbia. In 1950 he immigrated to US where he lived for twelve years. In 1962 he moved to Mexico.

Mr. Djordjevich founded Capital Guaranty Corporation, one of the first companies in the US to insure municipal bonds, ensuring $18 billion in financing for various infrastructure projects in America, which company he took public on the NY Stock Exchange in 1993, and subsequently sold his stake to devote himself full time to Serbian philanthropy.

Desko Nikitovic

Desko Nikitovic
Desko Nikitovic, Executive Chairman of East Point Metals Ltd, was born in Arilje, Serbia on November 11, 1960. He received his law degree from the University of Belgrade in 1989. From 1987 to 1990, Mr. Nikitovic was an active member of the “opposition movement” advocating democracy in Serbia. He immigrated to the United States in 1990 and has lived in Chicago for the past 30 years.

As a representative of Serbian diaspora in the United States, Mr. Nikitovic made numerous appearances on US national and local television and radio programs, promoting democratic changes in Yugoslavia. He served as President of the Serbian Unity Congress in Chicago, from 1998-2002.
